CCA Announces Our Fall 2026 Forum:
Prenatal Substance Exposure and Neuropsychological Testing: What Providers and Families Need to Know
A Forum for Members of the Connecticut Council on Adoption
& Adoption Community Network
Dr. Krista Mraz, Pediatric Neuropsychologist, will join us to address these issues followed by the A.C.N. semiannual meeting:
What signs and symptoms may indicate prenatal substance exposure.
What to look for if substance exposure is known or suspected.
When is it appropriate to seek a neuropsychological evaluation?
What information can neuropsychological testing provide and how it can help families better understand their child's strengths and challenges?
What is the difference between psychological testing and neuropsychological testing?
Krista Mraz, Psy.D
Dr. Krista Mraz earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University, where she double majored in Neuroscience and Music. She completed her doctoral degree at the University of Connecticut, with a concentration in Neuropsychology. At UConn, Dr. Mraz trained with renowned autism expert, Dr. Deborah Fein, and provided ASD evaluations for toddlers and young children. Her dissertation examined accelerated head and body growth in infants later diagnosed with ASD, and head and body growth in children who later lost their ASD diagnoses.
Dr. Mraz completed her predoctoral internship at the Village for Families and Children in Hartford, and her post-doctoral fellowship at Connecticut Pediatric Neuropsychology Associates in Glastonbury, where she continued to work as an associate of the practice for eleven years.
Dr. Mraz has also served as an assistant professor at the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology at the University of Hartford, where she taught courses in psychological and neuropsychological assessment.
